With all of the heavy snow that the UK has experienced over the last few days it means that flights to and from Gatwick have been grounded. If there is a risk that your flight in to Gatwick might be delayed then it is likely that once you do eventually land, you will be keen to make a quick get away from the airport.
You could wait around for public transport, but there are many rail disruptions due to the weather conditions and so you will be better off driving to your destination.
